2011 CNE / ENC 1102

This summer B semester i have to say was the fastest semester i have had by far! It was fun and entertaining, it was also boring and slow at times to, but nothing and no one is perfect. I thought that this being a summer class i would be able to buckle down and get work done unlike during the regular semesters but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I am not very proud of the way i conducted myself academically this semester but  it was still fun. Natasha Olivera is the best English professor i have had at FIU and hopefully my last. She is nice but make sure to follow the rules, listen to what she says and do the work otherwise the kindness will not be seen. I really can't offer much in how i would change the course because it went by so fast. Two days a week is just not enough time for writing all the essays and doing all the work that needs to be done but Natasha some how crammed most of it in there.
I made a few friends in class and its fun but the semester is finally over and we will go our separate ways. I am going to miss my group the most, we worked so hard trying to get that final presentation finished and working it was exhausting. All in all it was a great class and i hope i don't have to repeat ENC 1102 again.

But they can hold you back if it's a failed class

The Neutral Policy

Teachers being neutral on the topic of homosexuality in the classroom i think is a smart idea. The only problem with this idea is trying to keep the teacher neutral in everyone's eyes. If a kid a curious or clueless about the topic and wants to know more i think that the parent should be the one to tell their child unless some kind of form is signed for a homosexuality class to be taken.
On the topic of bullying, why was that even brought up in the argument from CNN. Bullying is bullying it does not matter what type. Bullying should always be stopped as soon as it is seen not matter what is going on. A child should never be bullied period.
As for the neutrality policy, i think it's a good start in trying bring awareness about the topic while keeping the playing field fair. However it's not an easy thing to do. Being also a very touchy topic does not help the matter at all. Is being neutral also always the right option? I don't know, but i think people should have more faith in the educators of their children in teaching them right and wrong at school. And if people don't trust the teachers then maybe they should care more and have rules and laws changed so that better teachers will be placed in schools.
